Flipping the Script on Being an Expert
Being an expert sounds so enticing doesn’t it? It catches your attention, makes you feel sassy and like you can puff out your chest and say, “Hey, look at me, I’m an expert!” It feels good doesn’t it? Yeah…until that empty feeling rises in your stomach and you become a bit unsettled, like you’re afraid of being found out that you aren’t as much of an expert as you try to make yourself out to be.
That’s when imposter syndrome likes to come out and play doesn’t it? Sneaking in the side door of your mind and wreaking havoc on your so-called confidence that’s rooted in other people's opinions and views of you rather than your own inner understanding of what you know to be true about yourself. So what if you freed yourself from spinning that never ending web of confusion, trying to measure up to everyone else’s expectations and feeling like you are never enough on your quest to expert status? Sound alluring? Oh, I know it does!
